Despite challenges, there’s a bright future for innovation among minority and women business enterprises in Rhode Island.

In the local and national business landscape, where small businesses and startups carve out their niche, there exists a need to level the playing field. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certifications bolster this mission and offer a pathway for small and diverse businesses to access opportunities historically out of reach.

The candid conversation around finances resonated with attendees, making these often taboo topics more approachable.

A dynamic group of 12 innovators had lunch, pitched their projects, and participated in a Q+A session with Olinda Urizar-Mendez from Commerce RI.
