NEMIC Awarded $15,000 in Grants from Rhode Island Life Science Hub

We are excited to announce that the New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC) has been awarded two grants totaling $15,000 from the Rhode Island Life Science Hub. These grants will further NEMIC’s mission of fostering innovation and driving advancements in healthcare and life sciences within our community.

Enhancing Clinical Research at Lifespan's Clinical Research Center (CRC)

The first grant will be dedicated to a collaborative project with the Clinical Research Center (CRC) at Lifespan. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and capacity of clinical validations, trials, and studies conducted at the CRC. By strengthening these core activities, we are positioning Rhode Island as a leading hub for clinical research, attracting top-tier talent and fostering partnerships that will drive medical advancements and improve patient outcomes.

This grant underscores the importance of Rhode Island’s clinical research infrastructure in shaping the future of healthcare. The enhanced capabilities at the CRC will support ongoing and future clinical trials and elevate the state’s reputation as a center of excellence in life sciences.

Supporting Innovation through a Public Pitch Event

The second grant will support an exciting public pitch event, tentatively scheduled for November 14th at Venture Cafe Providence. This event will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and key stakeholders in the life sciences and healthcare sectors. It will provide a platform for emerging companies and startups to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and solutions to a panel of industry experts.

By fostering a collaborative and competitive environment, this pitch event aims to accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative health technologies. The event will also serve as a networking opportunity, connecting participants with potential partners, investors, and mentors who can help propel their ventures to the next level.

Looking Ahead

These grants reflect the growing recognition of Rhode Island as a thriving life sciences ecosystem. NEMIC is proud to play a pivotal role in this journey, working alongside our partners to drive meaningful change in healthcare. We are grateful for the support from the Rhode Island Life Science Hub and look forward to the impactful work that will result from these initiatives.

Stay tuned for more updates on these projects and details about the upcoming pitch event. We invite everyone in the community to join us in November to witness the future of healthcare innovation in action.
