NEMIC partners with KOVA, helping Korean startups hone US-entry business plan

As part of its global initiatives, The NEMIC Foundation recently partnered with the Korean Venture Business Association (KOVA) to mentor four Korean med tech startups and connect them with investors here in the United States.

NEMIC, with its network of industry experts and investors, is perfectly positioned to help KOVA fulfill one of its key missions - the globalization of Korean startups and ensuring that capital and manpower from around the world flow into the country's startup ecosystem.

As part of the partnership, NEMIC helped participants from NEAR Brain, 3D Ons, Dr. Clobo, and Promedius with their pitch deck development and presentation readiness for US investors, as well as performing a high-level venture diagnostic through our gap analysis tool. In the weeks before arriving in Rhode Island, they met several times with NEMIC’s Lydia Shin Schroter to work on their presentations - which they fine-tuned during a three-day visit to Providence.

Their visit concluded with a Pitch Demo night, during which the participants shared their US business plans before an intimate gathering of hand-selected investors. These Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provided insightful and critical feedback for the startups, with discussions still continuing in the weeks following the event.

NEMIC would like to thank the following advisors who helped the KOVA participants hone their business plans:

  • Brian Demers

  • George Karniadakis

  • Anshul Parulkar

  • Dom Messerli

  • Prakash Sampath

  • Aidan Petrie

  • Lydia Shin Schroter

NEMIC will continue its global efforts in 2023.
