May's Women's Health + Entrepreneurship Event. Speakers Announced
Digital Health, Design Health + Connections to Resources for Women Owned Businesses. This month’s Women’s Heath + Entrepreneurship Event pulls two speakers from two drastically different backgrounds in the healthcare field. One, a Doctor focusing on digital health and connecting women to funding for their healthcare startups and companies, and two, a designer focusing on global women’s health education though textile design will join us in sharing their stories of how they began working in their field, what needs they saw in their respective industries, and what they are doing now to fill those needs. Join us for an exciting event focused on women’s health and learn about these two women positively changing the healthcare space for women from drastically different angles.
This monthly speaker series is aimed at creating a space for storytelling, conversing, learning, and celebrating women’s health initiatives in Southern New England. Join us for this monthly event, on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, as we showcase two local speakers who are either working on women's health initiatives or are women entrepreneurs. Stick around for networking, a cash bar, and delicious tater tots from our friends at the Askew Bistro & Entertainment Venue.

On the opposite side of the healthcare spectrum working in global health, meet Designer, Eliza Squibb. Eliza bridges the worlds of art and science using textile design. Her research in traditional art practices has taken her to Tunisia and the Peruvian Amazon, where she organized design workshops for women artisans in indigenous communities. With the Rhode Island nonprofit GAIA Vaccine Foundation, Eliza created textile prints, produced in West Africa, to raise awareness for women’s reproductive health campaigns. Inspired by her belief that art and design can answer some of the world’s most pressing problems, Eliza founded the social enterprise ZTwist Design with Boston-based writer and health literacy advocate Julia Shivers. The mission of ZTwist Design is to improve information equity worldwide by partnering with local artists to create site-specific works. Join us for Eliza’s presentation on decoding the cultural communication system of textile design and launching ZTwist’s innovation of international collaborative art for social impact.
