PROVIDENCE, RI, August 8, 2019 - In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training’s Real Jobs Rhode Island (Real Jobs RI) initiative, the New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC) announces that applications are open for an immersive Medical Technology Leadership Program to educate, train, and grow the Med Tech ecosystem in Rhode Island. This program is free of charge to all Rhode Island residents and employees, however, we encourage all to apply.  

NEMIC and Advance-CTR have teamed up to bring early-stage Rhode Island academic entrepreneurs a one-on-one coaching program to teach them the various components of translating research into an eventual business plan and pitch deck with investors in mind. 

As we mentioned earlier, what makes a company's culture unique is more than just cool perks or a gorgeous new office (which this company has, sure) — and that's what makes the New England Medical Innovation Center stand out.

As a medical student, I’ve been preoccupied with learning everything from basic cell biology to the intricacies of motor pathways in the human brain. However, for the past month-and-a-half, I took a break from the textbooks and did a deep dive into the Med Tech industry as a project intern at NEMIC. 

The unique collaboration between NEMIC and Bryant University will combine the expertise of healthcare, education, and business innovators. Bryant’s experienced faculty, students, and international business professionals will team up with NEMIC clients, applying design thinking processes, strategic analysis, and market research to create customized market strategies for Med Tech companies. The partnership will assist NEMIC clients with the commercialization process in the field of healthcare devices and digital product design.

Dr. Hanumara’s focus on innovation in the medical device space and deep experience translating clinical needs to a technology and business case is extremely beneficial in supporting Med Tech innovators and entrepreneurs worldwide. As an Advisor, Dr. Hanumara's global reach will benefit national and international entrepreneurs by connecting them to NEMIC for support and success of their businesses.

This past weekend NEMIC Managing Partners, Aidan Petrie and Lydia Shin Schroter, NEMIC Marketing + Communications Manager, Danielle Sturm and NEMIC’s Pharma Mentor, Katie Gordon joined the Korean Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Philadelphia for a One Day Accelerating Program culminating a month of remote advisory and coaching services to 9 Korean Med Tech and Pharma Startups.
