PROVIDENCE, RI, April 9, 2019 – The Foundation for New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC) was recognized yesterday as a recipient of the “Real Jobs RI” Implementation Grant to cultivate and educate the future leaders of medical technologies and digital health.  NEMIC aims to provide leadership training to small businesses, scientists, researchers, and students in local universities through an all-inclusive MedTech training program with the goal to bridge the gap between workforce and economic development in a key Rhode Island economic segment.

We wrapped up our day of showing West Coast investment group RedCrow around Providence, RISD, and Ximedica with an informal pitch presentation at our Innovation Center showcasing 7 NEMIC Community startups.

We are excited to announce that the New England Medical Innovation Center has been chosen by RI Inno as a winner of their second annual 50 on Fire Awards in the category of Healthcare. The 50 on Fire awards spotlight 50 organizations that are doing uniquely fabulous work to continue to set the ecosystem ablaze in Rhode Island.

We can count on Bisnow to shine a light on great things happening in Rhode Island. Last year, the group’s “New England Presents” series included a panel called “Investing in Rhode Island.” This year, Bisnow hosted “Providence State of the Market,” which brought together an incredible mix of representatives from the public and private sectors for two panels that talked about many aspects of Rhode Island’s economic turnaround.

When startup founders in the medical technology field launch companies, they typically have a good understanding of the technology they are employing, and even a solid grasp of the medical field.
