RILSH Backs Local Innovators with $200K Award for NEMIC

We’re pleased to share that NEMIC has been awarded a $200,000 Life Science Partner Grant from the Rhode Island Life Science Hub

This funding will play a critical role in expanding our MedTech Leadership and Accelerator Programs, allowing us to continue supporting HealthTech startups and industry professionals as they bring new innovations to market. Additionally, these funds will be used to promote and drive sales for our Virtual Classroom, an online learning platform designed to equip innovators with the knowledge and tools to succeed in the MedTech space.

With federal grant funding becoming increasingly competitive and uncertain, nonprofits like NEMIC are under growing pressure to diversify revenue streams. In response, we are expanding our fee-for-service consulting offerings, providing hands-on support to early-stage companies navigating commercialization. These services allow us to continue delivering high-impact programs while ensuring long-term sustainability. Stay tuned for more details in our next newsletter as we roll out new ways to support HealthTech innovators on their journey to market.

We’re incredibly grateful for this funding, which will help us maintain our programs and support more HealthTech innovators.

We invite you to see our impact firsthand by joining us for our Pitch Night & Graduation on April 17th—an exciting evening showcasing the MedTech entrepreneurs we support. Register here: NEMIC Pitch Night & Graduation.

Finally, please support our mission to drive innovation in healthcare and consider making a donation to help us continue providing critical resources and support to early-stage startups. Every contribution helps fuel the next wave of medical breakthroughs!
