NEMIC Gains Vivvidae Life Sciences as Newest Corporate Member

Providence, RI — As Rhode Island’s bustling Life Science innovation economy continues to blossom, NEMIC continues our work developing deep roots with companies and service providers in the health tech space anchored in the region.  NEMIC’s Corporate Membership initiative set out to create a program that drives healthcare advancement by providing startups with key support needed for success.  To date, we have a cohort of eight esteemed members curated to represent broad industry sectors, including financial, legal, product design, QMS management, product development, and more.  It is with excitement that we welcome our ninth Corporate Member, Vivvidae Life Sciences.

As a company advising novel and in-market technologies in the Life Science sector, Vivvidae was founded to guide the development journey, focus on monetization of technology assets and achieve key milestones. “I founded Vivvidae to work closely with companies that are passionately pursuing improving people’s lives with their technology innovations,” says CEO Karen Miller Gillis on Vivvidae’s beginnings.

Leveraging a highly-curated network with deep subject matter expertise, key collective knowledge is applied to the business needs of new and cutting edge innovations.  An operational mindset helps partners avoid common yet little-known pitfalls and detractors, and maintain focus on the key components that matter. This approach is a huge value-add to startups keen on, and in need of, money- and time-savers.  This not only facilitates the achievement of requisite milestones, but ultimately aids in the de-risking of a technology asset.

With more than 36 years experience building life science companies, and $757M in combined value creation, Vivvidae leverages their expansive network for the right industry experience.  Experts are assembled to accomplish what is required of a given company, and the team expands and contracts for the right fit, at the right time.  This approach directly correlates with NEMIC’s Corporate Membership ethos of supporting startups by growing a network of like-minded companies and service providers who both understand, and are passionate about entrepreneurs.

“Vivvidae has been a phenomenal industry expert and mentor in working with our startups,” said Emily Curtis, Programs Associate at NEMIC. “[CEO] Karen [Miller Gillis] and her team have worked closely with several of our startups–including KT Innovations, Just Breathe, Connexions, and Docs for Health–on milestone achievements like Go-To-Market strategy, competitive analysis, market sizing, and more, just to name a few; and the collaboration has been overwhelmingly positive.”

As NEMIC continues on a path toward an ever-expanding cohort, we are proud of the ongoing success of our Corporate Membership Program.  The importance of an esteemed corporate support system who understands the immense value of the work we do, and the impact that work has on real patients in our complicated healthcare system, remains a key focus.  For more information on our program, or to explore becoming a corporate member, visit our webpage here.
