NEMIC's Virtual Classroom: Med Tech Education on YOUR Terms

The NEMIC Foundation is once again disrupting the Med Tech education space and we're inviting you to come along for the ride!

Building on the incredible success of our Med Tech Leadership Program, we are excited to announce the launch of the NEMIC Virtual Classroom. This asynchronous education platform makes our groundbreaking curriculum - once only available in-person - accessible to entrepreneurs and innovators worldwide on their own time and on their own terms. While providing industry-leading support and mentorship that is convenient, streamlined, and cost-efficient, the NEMIC Virtual Classroom guides participants from idea conception to an investable product and company.

If we've piqued your interest even just a little, we invite you to keep scrolling through this brief introduction to the NEMIC Virtual Classroom. You never know, it could be life-changing.

This brief introduction video explains how the NEMIC Virtual Classroom can help people from all different facets of the Med Tech space level up their game.

Curriculum: Providing a Focused, Comprehensive Foundation

While developing the NEMIC Virtual Classroom, we collaborated with key opinion leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs - curating decades of industry experience and know-how into one holistic, comprehensive program comprised of six modules, 22 courses, and more than 30 hours of learning content. By providing a comprehensive foundation vital for anyone in the Med Tech field - whether you're an innovator, entrepreneur, or an industry professional - the NEMIC Virtual Classroom fills in potentially costly knowledge gaps and provides learners with a fundamental understanding of:

  • Foundational concepts in the Med Tech industry, including but not limited to current trends, value propositions, and commercial viability, and how intellectual property is protected

  • Ins-and-outs of product development and regulatory principles, such as design verification, device classification, usability and human factors, quality assurance, and clinical trials and validation

  • A go-to-market strategy, including market sizing, reimbursement, and pricing.

  • Elements of an investable team and how to structure said team; the program management and human resources skills needed to maintain your venture and company

  • Funding a Med Tech startup and how to answer some important questions: What are the different types of investors? What are investors looking for in a company? How is due diligence conducted? What are the mechanics of fundraising?

  • Constructing and delivering an effective and compelling pitch deck

In addition, the curriculum includes several hands-on activities and exercises. These accompany the subject matter expert-led asynchronous learning content and are a great way to put your newly-acquired knowledge and skills to practice.

  • Case Studies on Commercial Viability

  • Stakeholder Strategy

  • Hazard and Failure Risk

  • Identifying Potential Use Errors

  • Regulatory Affairs Competitor Comparison Table

  • Market Sizing Excel Template

  • Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Investable Team Plan

  • Financial Acumen Excel Workbook + Case Study

  • Focused Pitch Deck

Origin Story:  How It All Began

The NEMIC Virtual Classroom has been more than two years in the making. Project coordinator Joey Gu and Maey Petrie, NEMIC's director of programs and business development, share the NEMIC Virtual Classroom's origin story and how a team of people brought the Virtual Classroom from just an idea into reality.

Program Options: Learning on Your Terms

The NEMIC Virtual Classroom is conveniently available on any connected device, allowing participants to learn wherever they want, at their own pace, and on their own schedule. Students can also customize the program to their needs - registering for one or two classes à la carte, taking the more compact Industry Professional Track, or enrolling in the Full Signature Program, which consists of 22 courses and 30+ hours of learning content. So, which one is right for you?

The Full Signature Program
Do you have a great idea but are not sure how to take it from concept to an investable business? Are you a career researcher or clinician with a passion for medical innovation? Perhaps you’re a businessperson or serial entrepreneur wanting to make a lateral move into Med Tech? Industry Professional Track
The Industry Professional Track is curated for non-entrepreneurs currently working in the Med Tech industry or looking to enter the industry and may benefit from a more narrow selection of courses focusing on select foundational topics with a focus on product development. The Industry Professional Track is more focused on earlier courses within the Full Signature Program, so leaves out more specific entrepreneurial classes like Financial Acumen and Pitching a Company 101. This Track is also perfect for folk looking to enter the Med Tech or Digital Health industries and can be a game changer for onboarding purposes. Sign Me Up »
